Things to Do in Phuket Thailand
There are few places in the world quite like Phuket Thailand, especially when it comes to the number of exotic places that you can visit. Of course, to get the most out of your Phuket travel adventure, it pays to go to all places that offer you something to do and enjoy.
From simple sightseeing to shopping and more, there are plenty of things to do in Phuket Thailand. Here are five of the more popular experiences that you can have while travelling around one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Visit the Big Buddha
One of the largest free standing statues in the world, the Big Buddha towers at over 135 feet tall and can be seen from anywhere in the southern part of Phuket Thailand. Located on a hill, the Big Buddha is certainly worth a visit if only for the spectacular view it offers of the city. You can travel up the hill where there is plenty of parking and even visit the museum dedicated to the history of the Big Buddha statue.
The Shops of Soi Bangla
While having the reputation for being more “adult” in nature, the truth is that Soi Bangla offers many colorful shops, restaurants and bars that are perfectly suitable for visiting during the day. Even the more adult clubs are well suited for couples to enjoy a drink or two before heading out to enjoy more adventures in the city. While not nearly to the level that Bangkok offers, Soi Bangla is still more for the adults and perfect for couples who want to see some of the more fashionable places in the city.
See the Karon Viewpoint
If you are really into sightseeing, then Karon Viewpoint is for you. From this location you can see the three large, beautiful bays that greet the ocean which include Kata Noi Beach, Kata, and Karon Beach as well. You can even see the isle of Koh Poo which is called Crab Island. This stunning view makes an excellent start to your adventures around Phuket Thailand.
Experience the Phuket Fantasea
This is a large, colorful entertainment park along Kamala Beach and there are many things to do while you are inside. From the many wonderful shops to the entertainment of stage performers complete with elephants, you will really enjoy the many great sights, sounds and experiences that this entertainment park brings to you and your family.
Sunbathe on Similan Island
Of all the wonderful islands, Similan is arguably the most beautiful. While only open at certain times during the year, you can plan your Phuket travel schedule to be there when it is available. Of course, Phi Phi island is the next best bet, but it is more crowded and arguably not quite as tranquil as Similan. Of course, the Coral Island and Racha Island are closer and more available so you may have to choose those instead.
Overall, your Phuket travel plans should include these five marvelous places so you can take in the best that this city has to offer.
